Funsho Bamgboye joins Sepsi as Romanian clubs announce multiple key signings
Nigerian forward Funsho Bamgboye returned to Romania's SuperLiga, signing a contract with Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe that runs until the summer of 2027. The 27‑year‑old, who previously played for Rapid, Hatayspor and several Hungarian clubs, will face his former team Rapid early in the new season.
Handball pivot Cătălin Baciu, 2.14 m tall and formerly of SCM Politehnica Timișoara in 2018‑19, confirmed his return to the club for the upcoming season. Baciu thanked the management and fans, saying he is eager to help the team achieve its objectives.
Forward Ianis Doană, 18, signed with Poli Timișoara after a brief stint with Dinamo București. Valued at €200,000, Doană highlighted his desire to contribute to the club’s promotion ambitions.
Midfielder Vlad Mihalcea, a former FCSB player, remained in Liga 3, joining CSM Sighetu Marmației. The 27‑year‑old continued his career in the northern Romanian town after a series of moves across Romanian lower divisions.
