September 11 anniversary tributes announced by ABC and Orlando Shakes

Various media and cultural tributes are being prepared to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

ABC News Studios will air a two-hour special titled ‘9/11: United We Stand – 25 Years Later’, hosted by Michael Strahan. The program is scheduled to broadcast on ABC on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, with streaming availability on Disney+ and Hulu starting September 2. An encore presentation is set for September 11, 2026. The special aims to explore themes of strength and community through archival footage and personal reflections.

In Orlando, the theater company Orlando Shakes will present the musical ‘Come From Away’ from August 26 to September 27. The production, which tells the story of airline passengers stranded in Newfoundland following the attacks, includes a special performance on September 11. The production will serve as a fundraiser for the Orlando Fire Department and the Orlando Fire Museum to support first responders.
