September 11 legacy explored in new documentaries

As the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaches, new documentary films are exploring the long-term impact on victims' families and the generation shaped by the tragedy.

“Turning Point: Generation 9/11” on Netflix profiles individuals who grew up in the wake of the attacks, including children who lost parents and soldiers who entered military service due to the event.

In a separate documentary titled “Daughters of 9/11,” Elizabeth Miller and Jessica Trant share their personal journeys of seeking closure. Miller, whose father was a New York City firefighter, and Trant, whose father was a bond salesman, discuss the ongoing legal complexities regarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Mohammed, the accused mastermind currently imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay, has confessed to planning the attacks, yet the pursuit of formal justice remains a central struggle for the families.
