September 21 historical anniversaries and International Day of Peace

September 21 marks several significant historical milestones. In 1761, the Jesuit Gabriel Malagrida was executed in Lisbon following a sentence by the Holy Office, an event driven by the Marquês de Pombal. In 1792, the French National Convention voted for the abolition of the monarchy.
