September Motofest stage collapses during storm in Patos de Minas

A severe storm with high winds caused the collapse of a stage structure during the September Motofest in Patos de Minas, Brazil. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night at the Parque de Exposições, resulted in five people sustaining minor injuries. Emergency responders, including the Fire Department and Samu, treated the victims, who were reported to be in stable condition.

Organizers held a press conference to clarify that the event's structure had received all necessary safety inspections and approvals from the Fire Department prior to the storm. They described the weather as having a magnitude far beyond what was expected.

Due to the extensive damage, the September Motofest has been canceled. However, the scheduled performance by the band Capital Inicial will be rescheduled for a new date in 2026 as a standalone event. Regarding event credits, organizers stated that those with balances on event cards can use them at a future event, while those unable to return to Patos de Minas may contact the organization to arrange refunds.
