September transitions: Personal reflection and school year adaptation

As the summer break ends and September approaches, guidance is being offered regarding personal transitions and child development during the start of the new school year.

For individuals, the transition to a new month serves as an opportunity for reflection. Key areas for self-assessment include identifying sources of joy from the summer, recognizing habits or obligations that no longer serve a purpose, and clarifying current priorities such as career, family, or health.

Regarding children, experts note that significant changes in behavior during the first weeks of school—such as fatigue, difficulty concentrating, or emotional sensitivity—are often natural parts of the adaptation process. While this adjustment typically lasts two to four weeks, persistent or worsening changes in behavior, social interactions, or academic engagement may require professional attention or support.
