Serafini Group bankruptcy threatens 60 jobs in Terni

The bankruptcy of Serafini Srl and SRF has placed 60 employees and their families at risk following a ruling by the Terni Court. The court ordered the bankruptcy of both companies due to their connection to the previous failure of Serafini Umberto Distribuzione Freschi S. r. l.

The Prefect of Terni is coordinating a crisis meeting involving company owners, workers, trade associations, and institutions to seek solutions and ensure production continuity. While the company's legal counsel expressed disagreement with the court's decision not to grant provisional management, the ownership has stated its intention to pursue all possible strategies, including redundancy funds (cassa integrazione), to protect staff.

Local political groups, including Sinistra Italiana and the Movimento Cinque Stelle, have expressed solidarity with the workers. The Movimento Cinque Stelle has announced plans to submit an inquiry to the city council to demand urgent measures and immediate support for affected families, while Sinistra Italiana has called for a deep examination of the causes behind the crisis, noting it reflects a broader national crisis in the transport and logistics sector.
