Seram Bagian Timur government holds training to prevent village budget misuse

The Seram Bagian Timur (SBT) Regency Government in Maluku is strengthening oversight of Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) management. To achieve this, the Village Community Empowerment Office (Dinas PMD) held a socialization event for village government apparatus in Bula on August 19, 2026.

Yehamza Alhamid, the Acting Head of the PMD Office, stated that the initiative aims to increase the capacity of village officials in managing budgets. He noted that officials must not only know how to utilize village funds but also understand the proper procedures for accountability and administrative reporting. Alhamid acknowledged that some officials still struggle with the accountability aspects of fund usage, focusing more on spending rather than the required documentation.
