Serang City officials advance local religious and social initiatives

Serang City leadership is implementing several community-focused programs. Mayor Budi Rustandi has approached the Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta to request central government assistance for providing free school buses. This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on parents, provide alternatives to private vehicles, and mitigate traffic congestion during school hours.

In religious affairs, the city is hosting the XIV Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ). Mayor Rustandi and Vice Mayor Nur Agis Aulia emphasized that participants must be official residents of Serang City to ensure the event serves as a platform for local talent development. The administration aims to use the competition to foster a generation with strong Qurani character.

Additionally, Arfina Rustandi, Chairperson of the Serang City TP PKK, distributed various forms of aid, including food packages for widows and orphans, mosque assistance, and audio equipment for the Al Hikmah Majelis Taklim in the Kidemang Complex to support local religious activities.
