Serang City reports high infrastructure satisfaction and pushes for bicycle lanes

Serang City has reported positive developments in its infrastructure and public services. According to the 2026 Infrastructure Service Satisfaction Index (IKLI) conducted by the Regional Development, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) in collaboration with Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, the city achieved a score of 73.08. This figure exceeds the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) target of 72.84.

Bapperida Head W. Hari Pamungkas stated that the aggregate score indicates infrastructure services are in the “good” category. The study, which involved 600 respondents across six districts, evaluated 18 indicators including roads, drainage, bridges, waste management, clean water, irrigation, street lighting, telecommunications, and green open spaces.

In a separate push for urban mobility, Serang Vice Mayor Nur Agis Aulia is advocating for the immediate implementation of dedicated bicycle lanes. Following the ‘Serang Night Ride’ event involving approximately 1,000 cyclists, the Vice Mayor emphasized that providing adequate facilities is essential to ensure community safety and support eco-friendly transportation and healthy lifestyles.
