Serang Regency prioritizes social welfare and waste-to-energy projects
Serang Regency Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah has initiated several regional development and social welfare efforts. Following the inauguration of the Gabungan Organisasi Wanita (GOW) leadership for the 2026-2031 period, the Regent urged the 18 member organizations to actively address domestic violence, child sexual abuse, and stunting.
Additionally, the Regent encouraged GOW to support food security and inflation control by promoting home horticulture. She emphasized that women's involvement is crucial for maximizing regional development and improving community welfare.
On the infrastructure front, the Serang Regency government is preparing for the Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) project at TPSA Cilowong, scheduled to launch in December. Preparations include allocating Rp4 billion for land maturation and planning significant budget increases through 2028 to expand the waste transport fleet. The project aims to provide a consistent supply of 400 tons of waste to the facility to address local waste accumulation issues.
