Serbia allocates 300 million dinars for 30,000 holiday vouchers for low‑income pensioners

The Serbian government approved a decree that earmarks 300 million dinars for 30,000 free holiday vouchers, each worth 10,000 dinars. Finance Minister Siniša Mali said the vouchers are for pensioners whose monthly pension does not exceed 80,000 dinars and that applications will be processed at Serbian Post counters.

The vouchers are part of a broader aid package aimed at supporting citizens and boosting the tourism sector, which the government describes as a key pillar of the economy. Since the scheme was introduced in 2015, more than two million vouchers have been issued, with the state having spent roughly 13 billion dinars on them. The new allocation is intended to both strengthen domestic tourism and reduce household expenses for Serbia’s elderly population.
