Serbia and Canada seek expanded cooperation in agriculture and technology
Serbia and Canada are exploring expanded economic and agricultural cooperation, focusing on technology transfer and increased mutual investment. Discussions between Serbian officials and a Canadian parliamentary delegation highlighted several key sectors for development.
In agriculture, officials identified significant potential in cattle genetics, genomic selection, and the application of artificial intelligence for farm management. The goal is to utilize Canadian expertise in animal health monitoring, reproduction tracking, and data-driven decision-making to improve productivity and animal welfare in Serbia.
Beyond agriculture, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Canadian representatives discussed strengthening ties in IT, digital technologies, energy (specifically renewables), mining, tourism, and biotechnology. Efforts are underway to transition from general discussions of potential to concrete business projects and direct connections between companies in both nations.
