Serbia expands economic ties through new bonds and international partnerships

Serbia is actively expanding its economic and diplomatic ties through new financial instruments and international partnerships. At the Belgrade Stock Exchange, CEO Lazo Ostojić announced that several companies are prepared to issue corporate bonds by the end of the year, seeking to diversify financing away from the banking sector. Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) are anticipated for next year.

In Xiamen, China, Serbian Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Xiamen Airlines. The agreement aims to expand cooperation in aviation, agriculture, and tourism, including the potential introduction of new flights to Serbia and the promotion of Serbian food products like wine and honey on international routes. Mesarović also emphasized Serbia's interest in attracting Chinese capital for advanced manufacturing, green energy, and digital infrastructure.

Simultaneously, President Aleksandar Vučić announced that a direct flight route between Belgrade and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, could be established within seven to eight months. This move is intended to strengthen bilateral ties in biotechnology, ICT, and the defense industry, following a high-level visit by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
