Serbia and Croatia announce new military officer recruitment drives

The Ministry of Defence of Serbia and the Serbian Army have issued a public competition to recruit new members for the tank units of the Ground Forces. Applications are accepted from 1 June to 15 July 2026 for driver and gunner positions. Eligible candidates are Serbian citizens up to 35 years old. Successful applicants will sign a six‑month contract that can be extended to three years, with a possible indefinite contract thereafter, and will receive a 20 % monthly contribution starting May 2026.

Croatia’s Ministry of Defence published a call on 3 June 2026 for 50 candidates to become officers in the Armed Forces. The vacancies cover medical, legal, psychological, military police, financial, technical and scientific specialties, with an age limit of 30 years for most candidates (no limit for medical specialists). Applications must be submitted within 30 days of the notice, accompanied by required documents. Selected candidates will attend basic officer training in September 2026 and will be commissioned as lieutenants or higher ranks.
