Serbia and India strengthen diplomatic and economic ties

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić met with India’s Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, in Belgrade during a high-level commemorative meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The officials discussed the traditional friendship between Serbia and India, referencing the 2023 visit of Indian President Droupadi Murmu to Belgrade. Đurić expressed gratitude for India’s support regarding Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its support within international organizations.

Economic cooperation was a key focus, with discussions highlighting potential collaboration in trade, investment, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. Additionally, it was noted that India will showcase its cultural heritage and economic potential at the Expo 2027 exhibition in Belgrade.
