Serbia and Republika Srpska Criticized for Unaddressed War Crimes

Activist Aida Ćorović warned that Serbia has never undertaken a genuine process of confronting its war‑time past, arguing that the country continues to ignore atrocities committed by its forces in Kosovo. She described the entity of Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina as “created on genocide”, adding that building a state “on another people’s graves and blood” deepens societal hatred.

Ćorović said Serbia’s current leadership perpetuates a policy that sows violence and repression without accountability, and she cautioned that such an approach could lead to serious internal conflict within Serbia.

The remarks highlight ongoing regional tensions over unresolved wartime responsibilities and the lack of open dialogue on the crimes of the 1990s.
