Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conducted his first official visit to Belgrade since 2019, meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in economic, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Both leaders pledged to finalize a long-stalled free trade agreement by the end of the year. This deal is considered essential for Serbia's path toward the European Union and its goal of joining the World Trade Organization. Additionally, they discussed joint projects to support Ukraine's reconstruction and ensure food and energy security ahead of the winter.

Regarding geopolitical issues, Vučić reaffirmed Serbia's support for Ukraine's territorial integrity, including territories occupied by Russia since 2014. However, he maintained Serbia's position of not imposing sanctions on Russia. Zelenskyy also reiterated that Ukraine's policy regarding Kosovo's independence remains unchanged.

On defense and security, Vučić announced plans to open a drone factory in Serbia in collaboration with Israel. Zelenskyy emphasized the urgent need for more air defense systems, noting that current supplies, including Patriot missiles, are insufficient for Ukraine's needs.
