Serbia announces financial aid packages for citizens

Serbia is implementing a series of financial support measures aimed at protecting living standards and increasing household liquidity. Minister of Finance Siniša Mali announced that a one-time aid of 6,000 dinars will be paid to adult citizens between September 22 and 25. Citizens can verify their eligibility for funds from the Shareholder Fund via the Treasury Administration portal starting September 7. Those not in the fund will receive aid from the state budget.

Additionally, a significant payment of 25,000 dinars is scheduled for September 14 for recipients of child benefits. Some eligible families may receive a total of 31,000 dinars if they qualify for both measures. A new legislative framework set to begin on October 1, 2026, will also establish the status of 'caregiver parents' for those looking after children with disabilities, providing a monthly allowance of 65,000 dinars.

Other regional social initiatives include grants for social enterprises in Serbia, municipal support for childcare and education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and various local humanitarian and social welfare programs across the Balkans.
