Serbia appoints Frank De Bleeckere to lead refereeing commission

Frank De Bleeckere, the former head of refereeing for the Belgian Football Association, has been appointed as the president of the Refereeing Commission for the Football Association of Serbia. De Bleeckere has signed a two-year contract to lead the organization and professionalize its officiating standards.

He will be joined by Christophe Dirix, an international expert who will take responsibility for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operations. The duo previously worked together in Belgium. Their mandate focuses on strengthening the integrity of refereeing, professional development, and ensuring compliance with the highest FIFA and UEFA standards.

During his first week, De Bleeckere has already initiated meetings with various stakeholders, including referees, coaches, club representatives, and team captains, to present his vision and action plan for the upcoming months.
