Serbia avoids direct relegation in UEFA Nations League A division

The Serbia national football team remains in the A division of the UEFA Nations League despite having zero points after three matches. Under the tournament's new format, only the two worst fourth-placed teams are directly relegated, while the other two enter a playoff. Due to a superior goal difference compared to Turkey and the Czech Republic, Serbia currently holds a position in the playoff zone.

To secure their status and avoid relegation calculations, Serbia must earn at least one point in their upcoming match against the Netherlands at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.

In related regional news, Romania suffered its heaviest defeat in 59 years, losing 6-0 to Poland in the B division. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick in the match, which marked Romania's worst result since 1967.
