Serbia begins 6,000 dinar one-time aid payments

Serbia has begun the distribution of a one-time financial aid payment of 6,000 dinars to eligible adult citizens. The disbursement process, which began on September 22, is scheduled to continue through September 25.

According to Finance Minister Siniša Mali, approximately 7.1 million people are eligible for this assistance. The first phase of payments includes roughly 4.8 million individuals receiving funds from the Shareholders' Fund, as well as pensioners and social welfare recipients, for whom the process is automatic. For these groups, over 5.4 million payments were processed on the first day, with a significant portion handled through Banka Poštanska štedionica.

A second phase of payments will occur between September 23 and September 25 for the approximately 1.7 million citizens who applied for the aid via the Treasury Administration portal. Citizens without active bank accounts will have dedicated accounts opened for them at Banka Poštanska štedionica to facilitate the transfer. While funds from the Shareholders' Fund have no withdrawal deadline, those receiving aid from the state budget must claim it within one year.
