Serbia, Bosnia boost hiring incentives for disabled and veterans
Serbia's Ministry of Finance accepted proposals to keep tax exemptions for employers who hire people with disabilities for up to three years, preventing a planned termination of the benefit in January 2027. The measure also retains profit‑tax exemptions for companies involved in training, professional rehabilitation and employment of disabled persons, and eases the transition to personal‑income taxation for entrepreneurs losing the small‑business flat‑rate regime.
In Bosnia‑Herzegovina, the government of Tuzla Canton approved additional funding to support the employment and self‑employment of the war‑affected population. Applications for a public call resulted in 111 new crafts and interest from 31 firms to hire about 150 veterans, with officials expecting more than 300 jobs to be created this year, removing those individuals from unemployment registers.
