Serbia climbs to 17th in Europe for minimum wage purchasing power

Serbia has climbed six positions in Europe regarding minimum wage purchasing power, according to official Eurostat data from July 2026. The country now holds the 17th position in Europe based on purchasing power standards (1,094 PPS).

With a gross minimum wage of 743 euros, Serbia has surpassed seven European Union member states in terms of what employees can actually afford to buy. Experts note that while this does not mean Serbia has reached the level of the most developed European nations, it indicates a narrowing gap between Serbia and a significant portion of the continent over the last decade.
