Serbia completes reconstruction of Nikola Pašić barracks in Zaječar
Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić visited the Nikola Pašić barracks in Zaječar to inspect the completed reconstruction and adaptation of facilities intended for soldiers undergoing mandatory military service.
The upgrades include dormitories, classrooms, offices, drying rooms, and storage facilities, as well as renovated sanitary and supporting amenities. Gašić stated that investing in military infrastructure is a prerequisite for increasing capacity for the reception and training of future soldiers, noting that the return to mandatory military service requires barracks to be prepared for new tasks and to provide quality living and training conditions.
The project is part of a broader process to improve military infrastructure and ensure that available facilities meet the needs of the defense system. The inspection was attended by State Secretary Mile Jelić, Land Forces Deputy Commander Brigadier General Nebojša Nedeljković, and Infrastructure Administration Chief Colonel Miloš Peruničić.
