Serbia: Controversy over medical student's hospital visits during campaign
The Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) has raised questions regarding the activities of Miloš Pavlović, a medical student and candidate on the ‘Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia’ electoral list. Pavlović has been conducting visits to medical facilities, including the Sokobanja Special Hospital and emergency services in Kuršumlija, as part of his political campaign.
Critics and political opponents have questioned how a student without a medical degree is permitted to visit patients and perform activities that resemble those of a health official. PSG emphasized that medical examinations and healthcare services must only be performed by individuals meeting legal professional qualifications, regardless of political affiliation, to ensure patient safety and prevent healthcare institutions from being used for political promotion.
