Serbia criticizes Bosnian Foreign Minister over regional stability concerns

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić has accused Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister, Elmedin Konaković, of conducting a 'private foreign policy' that threatens regional stability and peace.

Đurić criticized Konaković for acting like a politician on a permanent election campaign rather than a diplomat. He alleged that Konaković has bypassed the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to withdraw diplomatic staff, expel Serbian representatives, and request UN sanctions against Serbia. These accusations follow Konaković's calls to the US, EU, UK, and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding the funeral of General Ratko Mladić.

Đurić stated that Serbia will remain peaceful and continue to protect the Dayton Peace Agreement, asserting that Serbia will not allow inflammatory rhetoric to pull the region backward. He contrasted Konaković's actions with the leadership of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, whom he described as showing statesmanlike responsibility and maturity during times of high tension.
