Serbia election controllers play key role in preventing fraud

In Serbia, election controllers play a critical role in monitoring polling stations to prevent irregularities such as duplicate voter lists and multiple voting attempts. These individuals, often members of specific political parties, are tasked with overseeing the voting process and ensuring the integrity of the voter registry.

Experienced controllers emphasize that their ability to recognize and report fraud, such as refusing to sign minutes in the event of irregularities, is vital for maintaining electoral standards. As allegations of vote buying and organized voter transport increase, the training and vigilance of these observers have become increasingly important to counter evolving methods of manipulation.
