Serbia extends fuel price caps until year-end

The Serbian government has extended measures to regulate retail prices for euro diesel and euro premium gasoline BMB 95 until December 31. Under the updated decree, the maximum retail price for both petroleum derivatives, including VAT, will be calculated based on the average wholesale price in Serbia, increased by 21 dinars.

For euro diesel intended for registered agricultural holdings, the maximum price has been set at 184 dinars per liter. The regulation prohibits adding any extra fees or costs to the maximum retail prices that are not specified by the decree or other special regulations.

The Ministry of Mining and Energy will calculate average wholesale prices every Friday, which are then sent to the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade to determine and publish the maximum retail prices. Violators face fines ranging from 5,000 to two million dinars, and legal entities may be banned from certain activities for six months to one year.
