Serbia faces measles resurgence and rising vaccine misinformation

A resurgence of measles cases in Serbia and the surrounding region has reignited intense debates among parents regarding the MMR vaccine. Claims are circulating that autism can be cured through unproven methods, despite medical consensus that autism is a neurodevelopmental condition rather than a disease. Some groups promote dangerous alternative treatments, such as MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution), an industrial bleach that can cause severe health consequences. Medical authorities, including the UK's National Health Service, clarify that while support and interventions can improve daily functioning, autism cannot be cured.
