Serbia hosts July music festivals in Leskovac and Belgrade

From July 19 to 24, Leskovac will serve as the National Capital of Culture 2026 and host the 14th edition of the STRINGS festival. The opening concert will feature violinist Robi Lakatoš, whose repertoire blends classical, jazz, Roma and improvisational styles. Over six days the festival will present artists from Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey and Serbia, culminating in a concert by the octet of Jovan Maljoković and the STRINGS chamber orchestra.

Meanwhile, Belgrade will hold the 33rd edition of the Belgrade Summer Festival (BELEF) from July 20 to 26. The program includes free concerts and theatrical monodramas at the Youth Center and the Princess Ljubica Konak. Highlights feature the Moldovan ensemble Concertino Accordion, a monodrama on Prince Miloš Obrenović, a joint Italy‑Serbia orchestra performance, and a closing monodrama about Milunka Savić. Both festivals aim to make high‑quality music accessible to the public and promote cultural dialogue across the region.
