Serbia hosts regional students under scholarship program

Đuro Macut, the Prime Minister of Serbia in a technical mandate, met with Serbian students from the region who are studying at state universities in Serbia. The meeting was held under the ‘Serbia for Serbs from the Region’ program, which provides scholarships and dormitory accommodation to students, many of whom are from Croatia.

Accompanied by Bishop Heruvim of Osijek-Baranja, Macut emphasized that the initiative is about more than financial support; it is about fostering a sense of belonging and unity among young compatriots. He encouraged the students to preserve their roots while remaining open to the world, noting that education is a transformative tool for personal and community success.

Bishop Heruvim highlighted that education is a vital segment for the survival and strengthening of Serbian communities living outside the borders of the motherland, providing them with the strength to endure in their respective regions.
