Serbia issued orange weather alerts for extreme heat

The Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia has issued orange weather alerts due to extreme heat across much of the country. Temperatures are expected to reach between 32°C and 37°C in various regions, including central, southern, and eastern Serbia.

In addition to the heatwave, a prolonged period of unfavorable weather is forecasted through the first decade of September. This includes a deficit in precipitation and temperatures remaining above average, creating a high risk of wildfires due to dried soil and continued sunny conditions.

While a gradual temperature drop is expected in northern and western parts of the country, very warm weather will persist elsewhere. Health officials warn that these conditions pose risks to humans and animals, particularly vulnerable groups such as the chronically ill and those under medical supervision.
