Serbia issues permit for new Danube bridge near Bačka Palanka

The Department for Urbanism and Construction in Bačka Palanka has issued a temporary construction permit for preparatory works related to the construction of a new bridge over the Danube. The project, invested in by Putevi Srbije, involves the creation of a temporary traffic connection, relocation of lighting and traffic signal infrastructure, and corrections to road signaling. The value of these preparatory works is estimated at 17.06 million dinars.

The planned bridge is part of a state road connecting Bačka Palanka with Neštin, Erdevik, Kuzmin, and the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina via the Sremska Rača crossing. The total projected section spans 3,352.23 meters, with the bridge itself measuring 1,856.04 meters. It will consist of a central section over the navigable Danube and two access viaducts on the Bačka and Srem sides. The structure is designed to include two traffic lanes and two pedestrian paths, with a total width of 12 meters.

Putevi Srbije has also launched a public procurement tender valued at 10 million dinars for the technical control of the construction project, which remains open until November 16.
