Serbia launches national retail price comparison platform
The Serbian government has launched an enhanced national platform designed to allow consumers to compare retail prices across more than 4,000 outlets. Developed through cooperation between the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade and the Office for IT and eGovernment, the system provides daily price updates to increase market transparency.
Currently, the platform includes data from 39 retailers and features over 1.2 million different products. The system allows citizens to compare prices for the same items across various chains, identify discounts, and track price fluctuations by comparing current daily rates with the first of each month.
Under new regulations, retailers with an annual turnover exceeding three billion dinars are required to submit up-to-date daily pricing to the platform. Future developments for the system include the introduction of an interactive map to display specific retail locations and store formats throughout Serbia.
