Serbia launches tender to build 65‑km high‑speed rail segment Paraćin‑Međurovo
The Infrastructure of Serbian Railways has issued an international design‑build tender for the reconstruction and modernization of the 65.2‑km Paraćin‑Trupale‑Međurovo section, part of the Belgrade‑Niš high‑speed railway project. The contract covers three sub‑segments (Paraćin‑Stalać, Đunis‑Trupale and Trupale‑Međurovo), the upgrade of ten stations, electrification, signaling, and related infrastructure, with a planned operating speed of 200 km/h on the main sections.
The project is financed with support from the European Investment Bank and a grant from the World Bank Infrastructure Facility. The design‑build contract is set for 48 months, and interested contractors must submit their applications by 2 October 2026.
