Serbia: Father arrested for ordering 10-year-old son to shoot business partner

Police in Serbia have arrested 44-year-old Slavko O. from Ub following a violent incident in the courtyard of a church in Draševac, near Obrenovac. The suspect is accused of handing a loaded pistol to his 10-year-old son and ordering the child to shoot his business partner, 25-year-old Milan Ranković.

Ranković was struck in the hands and partially in the lung during the attack. He is currently in stable condition and undergoing treatment at a hospital. Investigators believe the motive for the shooting stems from unresolved financial disputes related to a joint business in woodcutting and sales.

The suspect, who has an extensive criminal record involving illegal weapons possession and violence, has been detained for up to 48 hours. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office is handling the case. Additionally, the Center for Social Work has been engaged to provide legal and psychological support to the minor involved in the shooting.
