Serbia Ministry for Labour budget increased by 24.12 billion dinars

The Serbian Ministry for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs will see its budget increased by 24.12 billion dinars through a budget rebalance. Minister Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski announced that the total budget for 2026 will reach 238.4 billion dinars, with the majority of the additional funds directed toward the protection of families and children.

Key measures include a one-time assistance payment of 25,000 dinars for every child receiving child benefits. The Minister noted that 877 more babies were born in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2025, which she attributed to successful pronatalist policies. Additionally, parental allowances saw an increase of 5.5 billion dinars in the first half of the year compared to the previous year.

Support is also being extended to the veteran population. Beneficiaries of veteran benefits will receive a one-time assistance of 25,000 dinars, while other individuals with veteran status will receive 10,000 dinars. Furthermore, funds have been secured for the new parent-caregiver right starting January 1, allowing parents of children eligible for increased care benefits to apply for a monthly allowance of 65,000 dinars.
