Serbia must meet three EU requirements to open accession stage

President Aleksandar Vučić told journalists that Serbia must fulfil three conditions – a Venice Commission assessment, implementation of ODIR recommendations, and the creation of a regulatory body for electronic media (REM) – before it can open the so‑called “cluster three” that would allow the country to begin formal EU accession talks. He added that two additional laws are needed to satisfy the ODIR recommendations, and he expressed puzzlement over one of the pending bills, saying he does not understand its purpose but the government will adopt it.

Vučić also said that meeting these three steps would accelerate the process, paving the way for “cluster two” and speeding up Serbia’s overall EU integration. He announced that the highway to Kraljevo will be opened on Vidovdan (June 28) and that a military exercise will be held on the Pasuljanske fields to showcase new weaponry.
