Serbia national football team finds new talent under Veljko Paunović
Following a difficult Nations League campaign marked by four losses, Serbian national team coach Veljko Paunović has identified two key young players for the squad's future.
Mihajlo Cvetković, a striker for Anderlecht, has emerged as a strong candidate for the starting center-forward position after scoring his first goal for the senior national team against the Netherlands.
Additionally, Red Star Belgrade defender Stefan Gudelj has impressed during his debut. Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 20-year-old has officially transitioned to representing Serbia after previously playing for Bosnian youth selections.
Paunović is also working to stabilize the team following the departure of former coach Dragan Stojković. Recent efforts include reintegrating veteran Dušan Tadić to lead the midfield, alongside the return of the Milinković-Savić brothers to the starting lineup.
