Serbia announces one-time financial aid for citizens and pensioners
The Serbian government has announced a series of one-time financial aid payments to various citizen groups. All adult citizens are eligible for a 6,000 dinar payment. Those with rights from the Shareholders' Fund will receive this automatically between September 22 and 25, while others must apply electronically via the Treasury Administration portal between September 7 and 21.
Pensioners will receive significant additional support based on their monthly pension amounts. Those with pensions below 31,092 dinars are set to receive 35,000 dinars, while those with pensions between 31,092 and 56,848 dinars will receive 27,500 dinars. Pensioners with higher incomes will receive 20,000 dinars. These payments are expected to be processed automatically through the PIO Fund.
Other social groups, including recipients of child benefits and social assistance, are also slated to receive 25,000 dinars. Finance Minister Siniša Mali stated that these measures are part of a broader strategy to mitigate inflation and support purchasing power, utilizing budget surpluses to fund these interventions.
