Serbia projected to surpass Croatia in GDP by 2029

New projections from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicate that Serbia is expected to surpass Croatia in economic size by 2029. This represents a delay from previous forecasts, which had estimated the crossover would occur in 2027.

According to the October 2026 data, Serbia's nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected to reach $111.2 billion in 2026, while Croatia's economy is expected to be larger at $115.92 billion. The gap is predicted to narrow in the following year, with Serbia's GDP forecasted at $120.27 billion and Croatia's at $122.23 billion for 2027, before the projected shift in 2029.
