Serbia reports rise in respiratory infections and influenza
Health professionals in Serbia are reporting an increase in respiratory infections and influenza cases. Medical specialists have noted a concerning symptom among some patients: extreme malaise that can temporarily prevent individuals from walking or standing. While doctors advise that patients should not panic unless they experience severe symptoms like numbness in the limbs or difficulty breathing, they recommend rest, hydration, and B-complex vitamins.
In the context of political activity, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has continued campaign appearances despite visible signs of illness. During public gatherings, he noted his struggle to speak and the need for medication to manage his condition.
Public health authorities emphasize that the primary prevention methods for influenza include vaccination, hand hygiene, and avoiding crowded spaces. Experts warn against the self-administration of antibiotics and advise seeking medical attention if a fever persists for more than three days.
