Serbia sees political rally backing Vučić and a journalist sued by a judge

Milenko Jovanov, head of the Serbian Progressive Party's parliamentary group, said the country must preserve its sovereignty and independent decision‑making, adding that this is only possible under President Aleksandar Vučić. He praised Vučić’s experience and ability to cooperate with China, Russia, the United States and the European Union.

In a separate case, journalist Dragan J. Vučićević appeared before the basic court in Kragujevac after Judge Nenad Baković filed a private lawsuit accusing him of defamation and of publishing an unauthorized photograph. The main hearing was postponed to 3 September pending procedural issues.

Both stories highlight ongoing political tensions and legal disputes within Serbia.
