Serbia aims to compete with Bulgaria and Romania as Vučić announces resignation

Ahead of his announced resignation as President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić has declared that the country has economically surpassed the Western Balkans. He stated that Serbia's next goal is to compete with the economic indicators of Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia.

Vučić highlighted several economic metrics to support his claim, noting that Serbia's state accounts hold approximately 5 billion euros. He also reported that official employment has risen from 1.75 million to 2.3 million people, while unemployment has decreased from 25.9% to 7.2%.

Political observers and opposition figures have offered varying perspectives on these developments. Some analysts suggest Vučić's resignation is a strategic maneuver to transition into a role as Prime Minister following the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25.
