Serbia announces one-time financial aid for citizens

The Serbian government has announced a new package of economic support to mitigate the effects of inflation and rising living costs. Under the Law on Mitigating the Consequences of the Energy Crisis and Rising Living Costs, several categories of citizens will receive one-time financial assistance.

Adult citizens who are not already recipients of free shares through the Shareholders' Fund can apply for a one-time payment of 6,000 dinars. Applications will be accepted electronically via the Treasury Administration portal (idp.trezor.gov.rs) from September 7 to September 21, with payments scheduled between September 22 and September 25. Certain groups, including pensioners and recipients of social assistance, child benefits, or veteran benefits, will receive payments automatically without needing to apply.

Pensioners will receive varying amounts based on their income: 35,000 dinars for those with pensions up to 31,092.11 dinars, 27,500 dinars for those between 31,092.12 and 56,822 dinars, and 20,000 dinars for those above that threshold. Other social categories, such as recipients of child and veteran benefits, are slated to receive 25,000 dinars, while veterans not receiving specific benefits will receive 10,000 dinars. Payments for these groups are expected around September 14.
