Serbia is implementing several initiatives to bolster its economy and entrepreneurship. The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) has announced a new strategy for the country's startup ecosystem through 2030, which currently includes 352 registered startups and an estimated value of over $1 billion.
To support small businesses, a new subsidy program titled ‘POS Program 2.0’ is offering free POS terminals to approximately 11,000 small businesses and institutions, with an estimated value of 2.3 million euros. Additionally, the Serbian government has approved a 100 million dinar program to enhance the competitiveness of entrepreneurship, providing grants for equipment, modernization, and job preservation.
On an international level, the Business Incubator Novi Sad, in collaboration with the European House, is organizing information days across six Serbian cities—Subotica, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš, and Čačak. These sessions aim to promote the ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ program, facilitating international exchanges for new and established business owners.
