Serbia to introduce expanded pension benefits by year‑end
Serbian Pension and Disability Insurance Fund director Ognjen Ognjenović announced that the government will continue improving pensioners' living standards through additional financial support, reduced medication costs and extra benefits for the oldest citizens. President Aleksandar Vučić is set to present a comprehensive pension package on 27 June, allocating 1.6 billion dinars, funding rehabilitation for more than 22 000 retirees and distributing over 115 000 solidarity aid packages.
The announcement was also reported alongside guidance for Croatian retirees, outlining a pre‑completion procedure that allows individuals to inform the pension authority up to 12 months before filing a retirement request, speeding up access to early or ordinary pensions. Over 15 000 new retirees are expected to receive benefits under the 2026 schedule, though their average pension remains below the overall retirees' average.
