Slovenia and Belgium advance to European Volleyball quarterfinals
The knockout stage of the 2026 Men's European Volleyball Championship in Turin has determined the quarterfinalists. Slovenia secured a dominant 3-0 victory (25:14, 25:13, 25:22) over Serbia, ending Serbia's run in the tournament. Serbia's performance was marked by significant errors in service and attack, particularly in the first two sets. Slovenia will advance to face Belgium in the quarterfinals.
In another round of sixteen match, Belgium defeated the Czech Republic 3-1 (20:25, 26:24, 25:14, 25:15). Despite losing the opening set, the Belgian team, led by Ferre Reggers and Sam Deroo, managed to turn the match around to secure their place in the next round. The Czech Republic's exit follows a trend of inconsistent performances throughout the tournament.
The quarterfinals will feature matchups between Belgium and Slovenia, as well as Italy and Finland. Other advancing teams include Poland, Germany, France, and Romania.
