Serbia used car market: 20% of vehicles show signs of intensive use
A study by IT company carVertical reveals that approximately 20.7% of used vehicles checked by users in Serbia show signs of intensive use. According to the research, a vehicle is classified as intensively driven if its average annual mileage exceeds 36,000 kilometers.
These vehicles, which often include former taxis, rental cars, or delivery vehicles, face higher risks of wear and tear on mechanical components such as brakes, suspension, engines, and transmissions. Such intensive use is often characterized by frequent urban driving, constant acceleration and braking, and idling.
Experts advise potential buyers to conduct thorough research beyond just checking the odometer. Key recommendations include verifying ownership through official documentation and personal identification, comparing prices with similar models, and prioritizing transparent explanations for higher prices over simply seeking the lowest cost to avoid hidden expenses.
